Post Colonialism Impacts Post colonialism is an enormous impact on a nation that was occupied by a foreign entity and it changed its people culture, language, and political aspects. Furthermore, one problem of post-colonialism are two culture clashing against one another, for instance, the people identity does not have a individuality that separates it from the world. Some nations like India, Haiti, and parts of Africa adopted some form of Western influence. In one of Jumpra Lahiri short stories called This Blessed House† from her Pulitzer Prize book titled â€Å"Interpreter of Maladies† it subtly exemplifies how post colonialism can begin with anyone regardless of race, religion, or gender. Also, the author James Joyce introduces his own†¦show more content†¦Resolvedly, Sanjeev does not want to accept these statues because they undermine is Hindu intuition, furthermore, Twinkle wants these statues put in place where ever she finds it comforting. The couple are drawn by Western culture, but Sanjeev is more drawn by Western paraphernalia as in purposely and thoughtfully though Twinkle is attracted to them more naturally and instinctively. One reason why Sanjeev is really apprehensive in Western culture is because he still has his Indian mentality stuck in him, since he recently arrived to America. Eventually, once Twinkle wants to uninhibitedly place these religious artifacts all over the house this enthusiastically attitude of finding more artifacts from her looms over Sanjeev cultural individuality existence. Observing this situation more closely, Lahiri exemplifies how Twinkle is taking possession of a newly found area in certain subtle steps. Initially, there is appropriation which Twinkle procure the religious items in the house as rightfully hers since she bought the house. Next step is re-representation, Twinkle places these items on mantelpiece without really learning of the items correct contextual purpose. My Addiction Assignment On Coffee Essay - 1252 Words

Hamda Awawdeh Psychology 2000 My Addiction I decided to do my addiction assignment on coffee. I have chosen coffee because I can never go a day without it. I usually drink coffee around three times a day, one cup in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. My sisters always think that I’m going overboard with how much coffee I drink. It helps me wake up and feel more energized, which helps me throughout the day. I feel like my coffee addiction started when I began to go to college, because that’s when my stress level reached its max. I was always over stressed about assignments and tests and coffee was like a stress reliever for me. It would calm my headaches down and help me focus on what I needed to do. Before college, I used to only drink coffee once in a while and I never really relied on it like I do now. Once I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is turn my coffee maker on, and make coffee to start off my day. I usually just drink a cup of coffee for breakfast instead of eating anything. This is a very typical routine for me and it’s been this way for a while, so it’s going to be a very interesting experience to stop for three days. My main fear for giving up coffee for three days is that I know I will be lacking a lot of energy. Without it I always feel very tired and sluggish and I can never focus.
